Lumpy Home Pages: The Big Snow Storm, Mar 2003

In March of 2003 Denver was paralyzed for almost 2 days as we got hammered with snow. Over 3 feet. Here I am clearing off the roof a bit and socking it to the boys while I'm at it. Notice the ominous snow bomb about to impact with Taylor's face. You can see over 2 feet piled up on the roof over the garage to left.

This is the day after the snow finally stopped falling. This shows me doing what I did a lot of during that time, shoveling. It was a beautiful sunny 55 degree day then.
Here I am on the 2nd day of snow. I had to get out the snowshoes to move around in the neighborhood. That's the street I'm walking in, under 3 feet of the white stuff. Mandy sits atop the pile of snow beside the garage. The next photo shows this same pile the day before when I built a tunnel through it.
Sam emerges from one side of the snow tunnel. It collapsed the next day in the hot sun. Luckily no one was going through at that time. Click here to see a brief clip of Sam negotiating the tunnel.
Mandy really enjoyed going out and bounding and leaping in the snow. For about 20 minutes and she was exhausted and cold. From then on she followed in my tracks whenever possible.
